National Electrical Manufacturers Association (in the U.S.A.). A trade association for electrical equipment manufacturers. Historically responsible for developing U.S. standards, and now contributing to global standards and harmonization. Author of the NEMA 250 standard – an alpha-numeric coding system defining the level of ingress protection for electrical enclosures and which is similar in concept to the two-digit “IP” code adopted by the IEC.
