Strongarm torque arms are used to support operator interfaces, displays, and enclosures at fixed industrial work points. In practice, they function as operator support arms that allow controlled movement and stable holding force for HMIs and related equipment. Exloc’s Strongarm range includes articulating enclosure systems and VertiMax units designed for mounted interfaces and larger enclosures.

They help place screens, controls, and enclosures where operators can work with a better working posture. That’s important when teams repeat the same input or monitoring tasks throughout a shift. Among the types of ergonomic support used in industrial workstations, adjustable arms help reduce awkward reach and allow better alignment for the shoulders and upper arms. For example, VertiMax provides vertical gas-spring-assisted articulation and up to 250 lb of counterbalanced lifting force, while pedestal stations offer fixed, swivel, tilt, yoke, mobile, and telescoping options.

Some Strongarm systems can be used in hazardous environments, depending on the configuration and certification. We supply Strongarm systems that can be configured for classified locations, including operator interface enclosures with Type X and Type Z purge options. 

Certain models in the range are also designed for hazardous-area use, including systems for Class I Division 2 and Zone 2 environments. Final selection should be based on the specific classification, certification, and installation requirements of the site.
