The D5072D dual-channel temperature signal convertor accepts two low level dc signals from millivolt, thermocouple, 2/3-wire resistance temperature detector (RTD), and 3-wire transmitting potentiometer sources in a hazardous area, and provides two repeated and isolated 0/4-20mA signals to drive safe area loads.
Output signals can be direct or reverse. Two duplicate outputs can be derived from a single input. Outputs can be configured for addition, subtraction, low/high selection. Modbus RTU RS-485 output via power bus provides alternative data acquisition. Automatic or manual cold junction compensation can be configured for thermocouple inputs. Additionally, remote compensation can be achieved using an RTD on the second channel. Fault detection provides notification of sensor burnout, sensor out of range, analog output saturation, internal module fault, module outside permitted operating range (-40°C to +70°C). A trip amplifier function is available by utilizing the second channel for alarm output. All settings are PC programmable using software SWC1090 and PPC5092 Configuration Adaptor. Suitable for high integrity applications to SIL2 according to IEC 61508.
