Earth-Rite RTR is the most advanced Tanker Truck Grounding System for protecting personnel and plant assets from static discharge hazards during loading & offloading operations. Tri-mode sensing insures that product transfer can only commence and be sustained when three key provisions are met. Mode 1 • Tanker Truck Personality Recognition Confirms RTR clamp is correctly connected to the tanker itself—not falsely connected to other conductive metal objects such as the loading gantry or other parts of the truck not bonded to the container. Mode 2 • Static Ground Verification Confirms RTR clamp is connected to a verifiable static dissipative grounding point. Mode 3 • Continuous Ground Loop Monitoring Confirms clamp connection and ground connection is good throughout the transfer process by insuring loop resistance does not exceed 10Ω. Operator friendly interface provides GO / NOGO indication when the tanker is correctly grounded. Bright pulsating green LEDs are activated during the MODE 3 continuous ground loop monitoring stage. Control / Interlock capability includes two relay contacts for pump, valve, and PLC control integration, plus connection to devices such as strobe lights and horns confirming transfer is under way. Compliance with NFPA77 and CENELEC CLC/TR: 50404 to insure less than 10Ω ground loop resistance. Hazardous location approvals includes CSA for the U.S. and Canada, compliance with the ATEX Directive for use in the European Community, and certification to IECEx standards for other international users.
